I'll try to highlight a few of the things that we've been up to since getting back from San Francisco...
First, we finally had the big garage sale we've been preparing for for months now. It was a lot of work and I was completely exhausted by the end, but it was worth it in the end. After the day was over we loaded up the things that didn't sell and dropped them off at Goodwill. After months of giant piles it felt so good to have it all gone finally!
Next, I was blessed to be given an absolutely wonderful baby shower. My shower was on Saturday, but really it was a weekend long event filled with baby stuff, family and friends. Meagan and Jessica did an amazing job at hosting my shower...everyone who attended commented on how nice it was and even though I'm not the best at being the center of attention I felt so blessed to be surrounded by people who love us and are as happy about the impending birth of our little girl as we are. Seeing our family is always wonderful and it was an extra special treat to have the O'Connell's in town as well. When they left Andy commented on how much his missed hanging out with them and we determined that we are always taken off guard when it's time to say good-bye because it feels so natural to have them around.
Saturday evening we had a BBQ to celebrate Andy's birthday. It was really fun to celebrate with everyone here and unlike me, Andy has no problem being the life of the party! He and Bella put on quite a show opening his gifts and even though I shake my head at times, seeing him get so excited about the little things in life makes me remember just why I love him as much as I do!
Monday was Andy's actual birthday. We spent the day at Lake Tahoe with our wonderful friends. Andy got his first run of wakeboarding in for the year and we ended the day with a great dinner at Fire and Ice in South Lake Tahoe.
In addition to all of that we have been busy with several different projects around the house such as moving furniture from Bella's room to the baby's room, setting up the nursery, continuing to clean out and reorganize and a whole bunch of other little things. I've been diligently working at getting everything in order at work so that when I leave there are as few loose strings as possible. Of course all of this seems to take a little longer than usual with my 9 month pregnant body. ;)
Speaking of being 9 months pregnant. As of Monday I am officially "full term"...37 weeks that is. At my appt last week I was 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. Today I was not quite 3, but "very close" as my Dr put it and 70% effaced. It's very possible that I could be pregnant for another couple weeks, but it's also possible that we could be meeting our little one very soon. My Dr told me today that he wouldn't be surprised if I went into labor this week, so we'll see...
I realized a while ago that it's been a while since I've shared a Bella funny on my blog and she just happened to say something yesterday that is well worth typing out for everyone to read! The guys left early in the morning to get us a spot on the beach so Amy, Terri, Bella and myself drove up together. We stopped by Walmart for a few last minute things and all decided to go to the bathroom before leaving. As we were walking out of the store, Bella said to us very matter of factly, "I didn't wipe because it will wash off when I get in the water at the lake". It was the last things I expected her to say and the look on her face made it all that more priceless. At that point, what's a mom really to say? Instead of trying to explain why we should wipe regardless of the fact that we are headed to the lake I just had a really great laugh! :)
I will try to post some pictures from my shower soon and will also do my best to give a quick update post as soon as anything resembling labor starts.
Here are pictures from the Shower and Andy's Birthday BBQ as promised...
